07-03-2010 Everton vs Hull City

Everton will hope last weeks result against Tottenham was a mere blip in their meteoric rise up the table while Hull will hope that result dented their confidence, as they try to climb out of the relegation zone.

Season upon season David Moyes works wonders with Everton on a relatively modest budget, and this season is no different. After a poor start which was hampered by terrible luck with injuries, Everton have recovered and climbed the table to the point of being discused as possible outsiders for a champions league spot. Last week s loss dented that hope, but from their position of 10th they could well climb high enough to qualify for the Europa League. With key players back in the side and good form behind them, Everton will certainly have the belief  that they can sweep…

Guardiola predicts Foden will soon flourish for Man City

Pep Guardiola predicted it will not be long until Phil Foden is back to his best for Manchester City.

Foden was named PFA Player of the Year and the Premier League Player of the Year following an exceptional season in 2023-24.

However, after featuring for England at Euro 2024, Foden has begun four of his five games this season on the bench, with his only start coming against Watford in the EFL Cup.

Speaking ahead of City s Champions League clash away in Slovakia against Slovan Bratislava, Guardiola said he was not concerned, though.

Maybe I can have some doubts in many things, but Phil Foden is going to be back! As much as he feels good, he will be back, Guardiola told reporters.

I think in 30 minutes at St James Park [against Newcastle on Satur…

Arsenal have no regrets over snubbing Arteta for Emery in 2018

Arsenal head of football Raul Sanllehi says there are no regrets at Emirates Stadium that new head coach Mikel Arteta was not appointed ahead of Unai Emery in 2018.

Former captain Arteta was unveiled as the new Gunners boss on Friday, leaving Manchester City, where he had served on Pep Guardiola s backroom team for three-and-a-half seasons.

The 37-year-old returns to London to find Arsenal struggling in mid-table, having endured a tough start to the season under Emery, who was sacked at the end of last month.

Emery arrived from Paris Saint-Germain upon Arsene Wenger s departure after the 2017-18 season, at which point Arteta was also in the running for the role.

But despite the way Emery s tenure panned out, Sanllehi is still content Arsenal made the best…

On this day in 2012: John Terry found guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand

John Terry was banned for four matches and fined £220,000 after being found guilty of racially abusing QPR’s Anton Ferdinand, on this day in 2012.

The Chelsea captain denied the charge but a Football Association regulatory commission ruled he was guilty of misconduct during his side’s 1-0 Premier League defeat to QPR at Loftus Road on October 23 2011.

The 31-year-old England defender announced his retirement from international football a week before the FA’s decision and decided not to appeal against it.

An FA statement read: “An independent regulatory commission has today found a charge of misconduct against John Terry proven and has issued a suspension for a period of four matches and a fine of £220,000, pending appeal.

Raiders vs Giants Week 9 Picks and Predictions: Las Vegas Keeps Rolling Amid Off-Field Distractions

It’s been another difficult week for the Las Vegas Raiders and yet again they have to dust themselves down to face the New York Giants in East Rutherford this Sunday.

Despite a rocky season off the field, Las Vegas surprisingly sits atop the AFC West and is a 2.5-point NFL betting road favorite over the Giants, who sit at rock bottom of the NFC East.

The Giants nearly beat the Chiefs last week — could this be a tighter clash than people think? Find out in our free NFL picks and predictions Raiders vs. Giants on Sunday, November 7.

Broncos vs Seahawks Monday Night Football Picks and Predictions: Carroll, Geno Spoonfeed Tyler Lockett

Those NFL schedule makers know what they’re doing.

Thanks to the non-conference carousel, Week 1 of the 2022 NFL season comes to a close with the Denver Broncos visiting the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

Of course, one of the biggest events of the offseason was Seattle trading franchise quarterback Russell Wilson to Denver, instantly making the Broncos a Super Bowl contender and setting up one of the most intriguing games on the season-opening slate.

Denver has drawn a ton of money and bet count heading into this contest, causing a significant adjustment in the spread from the opener in the spring. That movement likely isn’t done yet, as this Monday nighter will be a key game for bookies and bettors.

We analyze the …

Week 1 NFL Teaser: Giving NYG, Vegas Some Breathing Room

There’s no bet type I like more than a 6-point teaser in the NFL. Betting spreads alone is hard enough, so I love the extra breathing room we get by slapping an additional six points to the spread in the NFL odds.

I’ve developed a modest following for my teaser content, so naturally, I’ll be doing an article dedicated to my favorite bet type every single week.

Here’s how it works: I’ll rank my five favorite teaser legs of each week, with the top two being my official teaser bet for that week’s games. Pretty simply.

When making my selections, I follow basic teaser strategy of crossing key numbers — most notably three and seven, which are the most common margins of victory in the NFL. We also don’t tease thr…

NFL Week 12 Bet Now, Bet Later: Ravens-Chargers Should See Ample Scoring

Thanksgiving marks a pivotal point in the NFL schedule, as the official playoff race begins in Week 12.

The NFL odds are tighter than your belt line after taking down third helpings of turkey, which means getting the best number for your NFL picks is as vital as a Costco-sized tub of Pepto-Bismol this weekend.

I kick the tires on the opening Week 12 odds and early action, highlighting some spreads and totals to bet now and some wagers to may want to wait on until later.

Super Bowl Predictions: George Karlaftis Makes Some Noise

Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are always going to be the top on-field stories when it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs, but Steve Spagnuolo and his stellar defense are earning their share of the spotlight — and their share of the Super Bowl odds buzz — once again this year.

Heading into Super Bowl 58, the Chiefs are rolling defensively. They held the Baltimore Ravens to 10 points in the AFC Championship Game, and an airtight secondary is giving the Kansas City front seven more pass-rushing opportunities.

That brings us to George Karlaftis, who’s jumped off the screen in his second NFL season. The signs were there in the latter part of his rookie season — 5.5 sacks in his final seven regular season games that year — and now…

New York Jets Next Head Coach Odds: Will 'The Hoodie' Seize Control of Gotham?

The 2024 NFL schedule barely broke into October before the first head coach was handed his walking papers.

The New York Jets said “so long” to Robert Saleh on Tuesday morning following the team’s loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London this past weekend. Saleh, who was +2,500 in the first head coach fired odds heading into Week 5, will be replaced by defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich for the time being.

This move leaves Gang Green looking for a new HC and has sportsbooks prompting opening NFL odds on just who that will be. Here’s a look at the favorites to be the next head coach of the J-E-T-S.
